Show 29 James Chiang

It is such a pleasure to be able to share with you all, the inspiration I get every time I chat with James.

I’ve known James for a few years now, and he really is one of my top five all inspiring people to talk to. His engaging conversation always makes me look at things in a new way. I feel like I level up both as an animator and a human, after I chat with him. Having worked on Open Season and Robots as an animator, Oddbods as co-creator and the originally director, Surfs Up and Ice Age 2 in pre-production James now continues to teach and inspire the next generation of animators at Animation Mentor and Paint masterpieces (they really are, I’ve seen them!). Clearly this was a really fun chat for me, I thoroughly enjoyed it, I hope you do too.

I’ve been habitually reading Jame’s blog for some time now. He is such a generous person with sharing his knowledge. This interview was such a treat, and you asked some great questions, Sandra. Looking forward to your future interviews.

The audio needs to be adjusted. Lots of loud sharp pitches. Besides that I enjoyed the podcast.

Thanks for the feedback Mark. I appreciate it. But I am trying to keep this free to the public, and I pay the expense that comes with hosting and posting :) I am not very technical, just an animator. Perhaps some day I can get someone to volunteer to help me with the audio. Till then, we have to make do. I’m sorry.

Really amazing episode, I have listen to it about four times! I wanted Jame’s for a mentor while I was studying at AM but unfortunately didn’t get him. It was really nice hearing some of his great advice. Can’t wait for the next show! I always look forward to it.
